On July 16, 1945 the world changed with the explosion of the first atomic bomb. The explosion took place at Trinity Site which is on what is now White Sands Missile Range. Trinity is a national historic landmark which is currently open to the public once a year. The following links will provide you with information on the history of the site, how to get there and some of the historic images.
Open House is April 4, 2015
Due to current fiscal contraints within the Department of Defense, WSMR must reduce the frequency of the Trinity Site Open House from twice to once a year. The site will now only be open annually on the first Saturday of April.
