McAfee Clinic Referrals and Consults Tracking

If your Primary Care Manager initiates a referral or consult for you, then it will be reviewed by the Specialty Service at William Beaumont Army Medical Center (WBAMC) to determine if the service is available within access to care standards. If the service is available, you should receive a call to schedule an appointment within five days, if not please contact the Central Appointment Line at 800-821-0919. Central Appointments is open 0645-1545, Monday – Friday. Consults and Referrals that are not activated within 30 days are administratively closed and will require your Primary Care Provider to enter a new consult/referral in order to be seen. If the services are not available at WBAMC, you will receive a letter from TriWest Health Care Alliance directing you to contact the doctor or provider identified in the letter to make your appointment. Please ensure you follow the instructions provided in the letter and if you would like to track the status of your network referral or consult, you may do so after completing the registration with TriWest Health Care Alliance, our TRICARE Network Partner. http://www.triwest.com/corporate/frames.aspx?page=/unauth/newsletters/T2U/february_07/track_authorizations.asp
