Biography

CSM William K. Maddox assumed responsibility as the Installation Command Sergeant Major on 27 May 2015.

 

Command Sergeant Major William K. Maddox enlisted in the United States Army completing basic training and advance individual training at Fort Bliss, TX. CSM Maddox has held numerous leadership positions to include: Stinger Team Chief, Vulcan Squad Leader, Stinger Section Sergeant, Platoon Sergeant, Field Recruiter, Battery

 

First Sergeant and Brigade Operations Sergeant Major and Battalion Command Sergeant Major. CSM Maddox's previous duty assignments include: 2d Battalion 5th ADA, 2d Armored Div., Fort Hood, TX, 5th Battalion 5th ADA, 2d Infantry Div. Korea (1989-1990,2002-2003), 3d Battalion 3d ADA, 5th Infantry Div, Fort Polk, LA, 3d Battalion (Airborne) 4th ADA, 82d Airborne Div., Fort Bragg, NC, (1992-1995,1999-2002), Sacramento Recruiting Battalion, Sacramento CA, 2d Battalion 44th ADA, 101st Airborne (AASLT), 94th Army Air and Missile Defense Command, Fort Shafter HI,108th ADA Brigade Operations Sergeant Major, Fort Bragg, NC, 2-44 ADA Battalion Command Sergeant Major, Fort Campbell, KY, 69th Air Defense Artillery's Brigade Command Sergeant Major, and currently he is serving as Installation Command Sergeant Major, White Sands Missile Range.

 

His military schooling includes the Primary Leadership Development Course, Basic Noncommissioned Officers Course, Advanced Noncommissioned Officers Course, First Sergeants Course, Master Fitness Course, Jungle Warfare Course, Air Assault Course, Basic Airborne Course, Advanced Airborne Course, and the Sergeants Major Course (Class 59). His awards and decorations include: the Legion of Merit; Bronze Star Medal (1OLC); Meritorious Service Medal (3OLC); Army Commendation Medal (5OLC); Army Achievement Medal (7 OLC); Good Conduct Medal (7th AWD); the National Defense Service Medal; the Korean Defense Service Medal; the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal; the Iraqi Campaign Medal; the Afghanistan Campaign Medal; NATO Medal; NCO Professional Development Ribbon (4th AWD); Overseas Ribbon (4th AWD). Unit decorations include: Army Superior Unit Award and Meritorious Unit Commendation. Foreign awards include: German Parachutist Badge. Badges include: Combat Action Badge; Master Parachutist Badge; Air Assault Badge; Drivers Badge.
