Happy Thanksgiving, Army! What's your plan?
This year has been very busy for our Army. From the no-notice deployment in January, to the on-going work of the 180,000+ Active, Guard, and Reserve Soldiers mobilized or forward-deployed, you continue to make me proud to be YOUR Sergeant Major of the Army.
As we go into the holiday season, I hope all of you are able to find ways to recover and prepare for the next year.
Over this long weekend, continue to maintain social distance, wear a mask, and look for ways to stay connected. Video calls, online games, and socially-distanced gatherings are creative ways to spend time with those you care about while staying inside your bubble.
No matter who you are, I challenge each of you to look after one another. This week, I want every Soldier from E-1 to O-10 to answer the question "What's your plan?" - ask your Soldiers, ask your peers, ask your Leaders.
Just one simple question can help us ensure that no one is isolated, left behind, or forgotten this Thanksgiving. As Leaders and teammates, we share a responsibility to each other. This question forces the conversation of how YOUR SQUAD plans to spend the long weekend. It's our opportunity to get to know our teammates and put our PEOPLE FIRST.
Thank you for everything you do for our Nation and our Army.
